Make It A Point To Care For Your Joints

1

Exercise to maintain a healthy weight.

Some research suggests that aerobic exercise - activities that get your heart rate up - can reduce joint swelling. Opt for exercises that won't give your joints a pounding. Instead of step aerobics, try low-impact exercises such as swimming or bicycling.

2

Watch the diet.

Good eating habits can help to reduce joint inflammation. Consume more Omega-3 is good as it is an inflammation-fighting acid and can be found in cold water fish such as salmon and tuna. Many plant-based foods contain antioxidants and phytochemicals, both of which may also help to reduce joint inflammation.

3

Carry things correctly.

When carrying objects, carry them close to your body. Bend your knees rather than your back when lifting things. Avoid bending unnecessarily by organising your house effectively. Store items you use often between waist and shoulder height wherever possible.

Did you know

Did you know that couch potatoes, computer addicts, and all who remain glued to a chair all day long have a higher risk for joint pain. Less movement means more stiffness in your joints. So get up and get moving. Change positions frequently. Take frequent breaks at work, and stretch or go for a short walk.
